Pretenders In Paradise 2009 Theme Announcement
Pretenders in Paradise 2009, the Ultimate Costume Competition of Fantasy Fest announces the theme “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” This year we are looking for lovers, dreamers, and you to jump aboard this rainbow connection of talented costumers decorated in their most eco-friendly gear. Now in its 26th year, Pretenders is sure to entice with an atmosphere of trash turned into treasure! Hosted at the Pier House Resort & Caribbean Spa, contestants will revel in this biodegradable battle for $10,000 in cash prizes amidst a full house of spectators and onlookers alike. Come to Pretenders in Paradise, “It’s Not Easy Being Green,” where time’s fun when you are having flies.” Pretenders in Paradise will be Thursday, October 29 at 8 pm. Fantasy Fest 2009 Villains, Vixens, and Vampires is pleased to announce Bridget Marquardt as the Grand Marshal of the Captain Morgan Fantasy Fest Parade. This ultimate vixen is the star of the Entertainment Channel's #1 show The Girls Next Door and is now the host of the Travel Channel's newest series Bridget's Sexiest Beaches. Armed with her master's degree in communications, Bridget has been a guest correspondent for Extra! and KTLA, has appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, NBC's Last Comic Standing, Identity and Starz network's critically acclaimed Head Case. This three-time Playboy cover model is also a die-hard fan of all things terrifying and chilling. She enthusiastically accepted roles on Scary Movie 4 and on VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project. Her favorite holiday is Halloween and looks forward to creating custom costumes every year. Fantasy Fest 2009 is enthusiastically celebrating their 30 year anniversary and wanted a Grand Marshal that was sure to entertain and fit the theme. "Bridget is a smart, down to earth lady that loves Halloween. We are ecstatic that she will be on board for our spectacular parade," exclaims Linda O'Brien, executive director.
